Mike Mossop, DVM
I'm a small animal veterinarian in Ottawa, Canada, and that's my boy Bruce next to me. In practice, I like to focus on client communication and relationship building, so I decided to start this website as an extension of that passion.
The bond that forms between people and their pets is truly incredible, and it's been a privilege to have people let me into that relationship as a trusted medical professional. Being a pet-parent can be challenging at times, and my goal is to help people navigate the ups and downs of the journey through education and practical advice; working as a team we can achieve the better health outcomes for the furry family members we all love so much.
Moving forward, the future of veterinary medicine is bright, and I look forward to being involved as a driver of change in the profession.
Fear Free practice is an initiative that is transforming the veterinary industry. I believe it's the key to success in treating patients effectively. It also makes a visit to the clinic less stressful for everyone involved, which is why I decided to get certified. Click the logo above to find out more.
More about me
When I'm not at the clinic I'm a father, a husband and a pet-parent to Bruce the black lab, and Roxanne, a feisty feline.
I was born and raised in Ottawa and am very excited to see the city come into it's own, right before our eyes. Most of my spare time is spent hanging out with friends and family, but I try to stay active and take advantage of the great natural setting our city has to offer by getting out hiking, biking or running. I love hockey (both real and fantasy) and am a bit of a movie buff too.
I've been fortunate enough to travel widely and experience many different cultures. Some of this travel has been for fun, and some for veterinary volunteer work (which luckily is also fun!) One day some of the photos from those adventures may just make an appearance here...
